10) Lack enthusiasm. You really don’t want this job anyways. It’s not a big deal if they call you back. This whole interview is kind of a waste of your time. Wouldn’t you rather be out to lunch spending money you don’t have? NO! NO! NO! Be excited, be interested and show it! Your interviewer is going to be looking for people who are positive and want the job. At the end of the day if your not excited and interested in the job, maybe you shouldn’t be applying for it.

9) Ask about perks or vacations. Make sure this is one of the first questions you ask, because it is obviously the most important aspects of any job. Every employer is looking for someone whose first interest is how soon he or she will not have to work. NO! NO! NO! Though perks and vacations are valid questions for you to have about a job you should stray away from asking questions about it during the interview. These are questions for once you have the job offer in front of you and are finalizing the terms.

8) Swear, cuss and lie. This is how you always speak; they should accept you as you are. You shouldn’t have to watch your mouth just because of this job. Obviously if they don’t like you cussing and swearing they are pretty uptight. And who cares if you slip a little white lie in here and there, I mean you could totally drive a forklift even if you don’t have your licence. NO! NO! NO! This one may seem obvious, but sometimes people find it difficult to watch their words. When it comes to swear or cuss words don’t forget that some people may have a different level of acceptable than you do. So it’s always best to stay away from ALL cuss words, even ones you may consider harmless. And as for lying, the truth always comes out. You will forever be known to that employer (and everyone they tell) as untrustworthy.

7) Don’t use your brag bank. You don’t want to show off, and really why would they care if you volunteered at a food drive and raised 10,000 lbs of food?  NO! NO! NO! You should have written your brag bank during your resume writing process, but you should absolutely pull it out during the interview. Be carful not to show boat too much as arrogance won’t help you either. But be proud of your accomplishments and achievements even if they may not be directly in the field your interviewing for.

6) Be ambiguous about job goals and reveal your weaknesses. Your not going to tell the interviewer that you really expect to be successful are you? Surely they would rather hear that you don’t really want to move up in the company. Better yet, you should consider telling them about your faults so the interviewer doesn’t feel threatened by you. NO! NO! NO! You should always be striving for something, reaching for a new goal. If you don’t have goals associated with this specific job feel free to talk about some of your personal goals. Either way you want to show the interviewer how ambitious you are! And generally the interviewer will find something about your application or interview to critic, you don’t need to hand them any help by revealing weaknesses voluntarily.
